Content Approval Process

An important update to our core function, reviewing content before it's posted.

Why did we add this feature?

Our goal is to create the best content for you and your brand. A significant barrier in creating this content comes when our network first produces content with you.

We trust the quality of our creators. Even then, we never expect it to be perfect the first time. While we continue encouraging brand to share very clear and simple directions, we also know revisions are natural in the process and the best time to revise is before the content is posted.

From speaking with brands on Trend many times, this improvement to content approval was the suggestion we heard the most. We are excited to make this process simple and intuitive so all our brands can quickly make use of it for content creation.

How does it work?

Because of that, our new content approval is a two step process:

  1. Creators produce content and upload the content for you to approve

  2. Content that is approved is then posted and uploaded for you to review the caption

This update comes with new organization to the campaign viewer. Introducing the Approval & Gallery tab, with 3 sub-tabs that step you through the new approval flow.

After creators are approved for a partnership with you and receive product, they will have 7 days to create content. Once they shoot content, they will upload it for your approval. The content will show up in the "Content Approval" tab as a card.

In the bottom left corner is a 4-day (90 hours) timer for auto-approval. When the timer ends, the content will automatically approve. Clicking on the card will allow you to review and approve content they shot.

All content is automatically marked for approval. Select the content you would like to approve to notify the creator that they can post with the approved content. If content is approved, the creator is notified and is given and given 2 days to post on Instagram.

Content should only be rejected if the creator did not follow campaign guidelines. If all content is rejected, you will be prompted to give feedback so the creator can reshoot and upload new content in 7 days.

Best Practices

As always, great communication is the main requirement for a great partnership. Make sure you communicate with creators what you want BEFORE they create content. Do not waste the first shoot knowing that a reshoot is possible.

It is still vital that you are giving clear and sufficient instructions to creators.

This new approval flow together with sharing media in messages will allow for creators to learn what content you would like and quickly produce it.
